Rear cut-out
Regular end plates create great wingtip vortices. Those increase drag and reduce downforce. By cutting out the edge of the end plates the deflected airflow is allowed to mix with environmental atmosphere and the end of the wing. This reduces the wingtip vortices and in general the drag.
Slats/Gills
The horizontal cuts above the tail wing serve to divert the high pressure airflow out of the wing profile. The pressure difference decreases and this reduces drag.
End plate strakes
These components are more about fine-tuning.
They guide the airflow in particular the upwash flow from the underside of the tail wing.
End plate slats
The slats guide the airflow into the lower section of the wing profile. This increases the pressure within the end plates, which leads to an acceleration of the airflow.
At low speeds - the downforce is increased and at high speeds - the flow is stressed to such an extent that it stalls and reduces drag.
Flexible wings
Flexi-wings can bend themself depending on airflow and pressure. At low speed the wing generates more drag, and at high speed it bends backwards to improve airflow and reduces drag. That leads to higher top speed on straights and more downforce in corners.
